Julie Ginn has been reappointed by Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski to the Lafayette Historic Preservation Commission for a three year term, and shall serve as Vice President of the commission for calendar year 2009.  Ginn was first appointed to the commission in January of 2006.

The nine member Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) is charged with upholding the Historic Preservation Ordinance and establishing Local Historic Districts. The HPC also provides technical assistance in the maintenance, restoration, rehabilitation, reconstruction, and development of historic structures within the City of Lafayette and works with the public, civic organizations and city officials to safeguard and preserve the architectural integrity of these structures.
