Murdock House - 1307 Columbia Street
The Murdock House was constructed in circa. 1890 by James Murdock, who moved into the house in 1891 after retiring from his post as warden of the State prison at Michigan City. The house was converted to a multi-unit apartment building in the late 1940's, and has remained a tenant dwelling ever since. In 2000, Lafayette developer Julie Ginn acquired the Murdock House and undertook a significant renovation of the exterior and interior.

The Murdock house features off-street parking and an on-site coin-operated laundry facility.
